Williamson County Lifts Burn Ban.

The status of the burn ban lift is in effect for one week, weather permitting, and will be monitored on a daily basis. The Williamson County Commissioners Court will monitor the conditions only a weekly basis, outdoor burning is allowed with the following restrictions placed on citizens while burning:

  • Citizens must be aware of current weather conditions, i.e. Red Flag warnings 
  • Fires must be attended at all times with a spotter. 
  • Fires need to be extinguished before dark. 
  • Residents need to report their controlled burn to local fire departments to avoid unnecessary service calls.

 


 

Prevention Message: 

Although some areas of Texas received rain, the state remains in a drought.  Use caution when outdoors, it only takes one spark.  Homes near wildland areas are at risk of burning in a wildfire, but a little advance preparation can greatly increase your home’s chance of survival.  Remove dead vegetation within 30 feet of your house.  Trim tree branches up from the ground and away from your house. Clean needles and dry leaves out of gutters. Create a firewise space around your house that is lean, clean, and green.
